The Urfspace™ Art and Music Show

An art show of original watercolor artworks from Urfspace Beyond: Into the Radlands, the latest book by San Francisco-based artist and author, Chuck Whelon, successfully funded on Kickstarter in August 2023. Chuck signed copies of the book, a colorful cartoon tour of the future, including stories, poems and cosmic space persons. Two other new titles from Planet Urf Entertainment were also released: The Future Sounds of Urfspace CD, a soundtrack album of 19 original tunes from current Bay Area bands, and “The Star and the Space Princess” a book of sci-fi short stories by author, Robert L. McCarthy, who was also in attendance.

The event featured live musical performances by Charm World, Matt Holdaway’s Army, Amy Carr, and Astrokitty & the Urfspace 5! Music co-ordinated and MC’d by Chris Porro. See the Livestream broadcast hosted and broadcast by Amber Greenlee on the Planet Urf YouTube Channel.

The gallery was open daily for viewings, from Labor Day, Monday September 4th, thru Saturday 9/9/2023.

About the author

I am an internationally published author and cartoonist. I am the creator, artist and writer of "Pewfell", a semi-autobiographical, epic fantasy sit-com that began it’s life on the interweb back in the early 2000’s.

I have created a large number of children's puzzle and activity books for various publishers, I also designed and illustrated the comic boardgame "Legitimacy" published by Minion Games, and have illustrated a number of other boardgames for Minion.

I am also known as the cartoonist for Goodman Game's 'Dungeon Crawl Classics' Role Playing Game. I am also the author of a puzzle book for kids called 'Wizard Pickles'--if you would like to publish it, let me know!

In my previous life, Chuck worked as an art director in the advertising world but I promises that I won’t do it again.

I was born and raised near the Basingstoke roundabout, but now live in San Francisco, CA.
